We do not envisage any issues in obtaining visas to the UK for attending a scientific meeting. However, Heriot-Watt University has previously supplied scanned, stamped or physical copies of letters to delegates when required to obtain visas for previous meetings.

The John McIntyre Conference Centre
The John McIntyre Conference Centre is located at the foot of Arthur’s Seat, an extinct volcano central to the city of Edinburgh.
The main room of the conference centre can be configured to be a large 300 seat conference room, or split into two rooms for workshops or parallel sessions.
Alongside conference functionalities, the conference centre contains four meeting rooms, two executive boardrooms, a lounge and a bar.
Accommodation in Edinburgh
The John McIntyre Conference Centre has many rooms on site (Pollock Halls, Chancellor’s Court, Holland House) that are available in July that can be held for use by JCCC 2027 delegates.
- Campus accommodation, £65 (shared facilities) to £110 (ensuite) per night
- 108 higher end rooms are available on site for £180 to £260 per night
The University of Edinburgh also has two hotels that are approximately a 10 minute walk away from the conference venue.
- KM Hotel, 43 rooms from £160 per night
- KM apartments, 33 apartments from £160 per night
There are many other hotels and accommodation options within the city centre, which is a very short distance from the conference centre.
